In 1951, Joachim Rost began an apprenticeship in a Berlin body shop that would lead to a life-long passion for repairing and restoring German cars. There, he learned what quality auto repair truly is: the best craftsmen use the best materials and techniques to do a job right. In 1966, Joachim carried this tradition of quality repair and service to the U.S. and opened German Auto Body in Palo Alto, California before moving to larger facilities in Santa Clara. Joachim taught his son John his tradition of quality service. Since joining the family business 25 years ago, John has kept alive the passion for quality auto repair his father first embraced in that small shop a half century ago in Berlin.
Our staff and technicians have an extensive knowledge of German vehicles, from how they are designed, through all materials and components, to how they are assembled. We also repair other makes and models, such as Toyota and Scion, that meet the same demanding standards for quality and craftsmanship.
Our factory-trained technicians and painters are, quite literally, the best in the industry. Our craftsmen stay current in their technical expertise, use the best tools and equipment available, and apply factory standards in everything they do. Our technicians take pride in their metal finishing abilities and our facility has won many awards for the quality of our paint application.
